Practices in Yoga Nidra: Radiant Rest for Deep Relaxation & Awakened Clarity
It is no wonder yoga nidra has become one of the most sought after practices in all of yoga. Barely on the radar of most yoga practitioners, or even teachers just a few years ago, yoga nidra is now at the forefront of wellness practices. With ancient origins, it is now used to address anxiety, lack of focus, self awareness, exhaustion, and much more. And that is just the beginning!
Barbra Brady will be lifting the veils from what else lies within. Whether you simply want to steep in rest over the weekend, learn to guide yourself, or learn to guide others, you’ll come away with a wealth of ease and clarity.
Over the course of the weekend you will learn:
● It’s history
● How it applies to the body, mind, and nervous system
● Short movement practices to prepare the body to rest in nidra
● Several practices in nidra with unique aims
● How to establish and practice a sankalpa (the deepest, most meaningful
resolutions of your life)
● How to create a restorative “yoga nidra nest” to ensure the deepest rest for the body, mind, and soul
CEU’s available for teachers

Sound Bath

Sound Bath
Date: Saturday, October 15th, 2022
Time: 11:30am-12:30pm
Price: $45 | $25/Member

A Sound Bath is exactly what it’s name implies–sound that envelopes and bathes you.  It is a very unique and healing experience.
Researchers have found that sound waves can reduce blood pressure as well as enhance sleep and memory. Binaural beats, tones played simultaneously that are close in pitch but not identical, can be found in a sound bath session. Studies show these sounds can reduce anxiety and enhance mood states.
Come with an open mind and open heart and be ready to be transformed.
Karla is a sound bath practitioner and meditation facilitator. She works with the technology and science of sound to create psychoacoustic journeys for others. Be bathed in the sounds of crystal singing bowls, gongs and other instruments that take you to an inner journey that alters your brainwaves, nourishes your nervous system and cleanses your energetic field.

All workshops are held at the studio unless otherwise noted.

All payments are non-refundable, but may be converted into blue door account credit (minus a $10 processing fee) if cancelation is received more than 72 hours before workshop.

Awaken the Spine Feldenkrais

Awakening the Spine: Exploring Bridge Pose
Date: Sunday, October 23, 2022
Time: 11:30am-1:30pm
Price: $45 | $35/member

How does the pull of gravity under our feet allow us to lengthen upward? How does the Feldenkrais Method® support your yoga practice by bringing new awareness to your spine and how you are using it?
Using Bridge Pose, Setu Bandha Sarvangasana, and The Feldenkrais Method’s Awareness Through Movement®, we will gently deconstruct and then re-assemble the oppositional relationship between our spine and our feet to gain new function and freedom.
With Bridge Pose as our entry point, we’ll explore the thinking and movement variations that enable the spine to flex and extend smoothly and effortlessly like a well-oiled chain that enables our natural uprightness and length.
Kathy James draws upon diverse disciplines, including the Feldenkrais Method, Biology, Ontology of Language, Aikido and various other movement arts, offering a unique perspective about how to bring about meaningful change.
Training as a professional dancer in the 70’s and 80’s after graduating with a BS in Zoology she stumbled upon the work of Dr Moshe Feldenkrais. She trained with Dr. Feldenkrais from 1980 – 1982 and graduated in 1983 as certified Feldenkrais Practitioner and is currently an Assistant Trainer. She teaches in several accredited Professional Feldenkrais Training Programs and leads workshops throughout the US and has a private practice in Petaluma, CA. She continues to study and practice aikido and is a fourth degree black belt in Aikido.

All workshops are held at the studio unless otherwise noted.

Restorative Workshop

Restorative Yoga

Date: Saturday, November 5, 2022
Time: 12-3:00pm
Price: $90 | $60/member

Immerse yourself in deep relaxation states for managing chronic pain, anxiety, and insomnia.
According to several studies, training the body and the muscles to truly relax can significantly reduce pain, mobility issues, anxiety, and insomnia. However, true relaxation is elusive in today’s norm of overworking, over-striving, and overachieving. Even as we sleep, we carry the tension from our days into the night, resulting in poor, unrestful sleep. In this workshop, we will explore the sensations of truly and consciously releasing chronically tense muscles, layer by layer, through restorative yoga and yoga nidra to resolve pain and stabilize your energy. Learn how to tap into your inner sources of rejuvenation so that you can continue to maintain vitality, joy, and purpose in your body and spirit.
