It is well known that yoga can bring more balance to our mind, body, and spirit. Our Mental Wellness Coach, Barbra Brady, specializes in the “mind” and “spirit” aspects of yoga, and how they can enhance mental wellbeing. Barbra has extensive experience (we call her our “Yoga Ph.D.!) in the psychology and philosophy of yoga and is a Certified Yoga Mindset Coach (YMC), which combines coaching, principles of Internal Family Systems (IFS, or “Parts Work”), and yoga practices.
Barbra helps the client gain perspective and understanding of the parts of themselves that keep tripping them up, cluttering the mind, or just taking up too much energy. Luckily, we are more than just the sum of our uncomfortale parts. At the core of each person is the “Self.” The Self is our calm, clear, curious, compassionate center. This is at the very heart of yoga. Self can observe the parts and knows how to best care for them. When we access Self, we feel the most balanced and make the best decisions. Following a session of compassionate listening and validation, Barbra will design a practice of
asana, relaxation, and/or pranayama that helps the client see and be comforted by Self energy.
