Sound Bath

New Moon Sound Bath

Time: 4:30-5:30pm
Price: $45 | $35/Member

A Sound Bath is exactly what it’s name implies–sound that envelopes and bathes you.  It is a very unique and healing experience.
Researchers have found that sound waves can reduce blood pressure as well as enhance sleep and memory. Binaural beats, tones played simultaneously that are close in pitch but not identical, can be found in a sound bath session. Studies show these sounds can reduce anxiety and enhance mood states.
Come with an open mind and open heart and be ready to be transformed.

Cooking wAyurvedic Wisdom

Cooking w/Ayurvedic Wisdom*
Date: TBD; Postponed due to COVID
Time: TBD
Price: $250 | $199/Member

Ayurveda is a 5,000-year-old system of natural healing that teaches you how to live in harmony with the laws of nature.

One of the easiest ways to create harmony is by the foods we eat. In this fascinating and informative hands-on workshop you will be preparing an Ayurveda meal consistent with the Kapha season (Spring).

When you cook with Ayurvedic principles, you incorporate all 6 tastes in your meal: sweet, salty, sour, bitter, pungent, and astringent. You leave the meal satisfied and satiated with no cravings.

While cooking the meal, Jesi Mifsud will be sharing Ayurvedic tips. Afterward you will get to enjoy the wonderful, aromatic, healthy food we created.  You will leave with a better understanding of how to eat.

Taught by Jesi Mifsud, the founder of blue door. Jesi is passionate about sharing Ayurveda with the community. Growing up, Ayurveda was sneakily incorporated into her everyday life. In Indian families, moms and grandmothers don’t serve you something and say, “And, by the way, THIS is Ayurveda.” It is just part of our every day. She loves to share this simple wisdom.

*Intro to Ayurveda is a pre-requisite for this course.

All payments are non-refundable, but may be converted into blue door account credit (minus a $10 processing fee) if cancelation is received more than 72 hours before workshop.

Yoga for Trauma

Time: 1-5pm
Price: $249 | $199/Member

As people across the world cope with trauma resulting from the pandemic, a trauma-informed approach to yoga is more essential than ever. Yoga can have profound positive impacts on the mental and emotional health, but working with trauma also comes with subtleties and risks that it’s important for teachers and students to be aware of. In this training weekend, we will cover the essentials of teaching and practicing yoga in a trauma-informed manner. Upon completing this training experience, participants will be able to:

– Identify common symptoms of post-traumatic stress

– Offer simple somatic practices to support students feeling triggered

– Infuse trauma-informed principles into their teaching and practice of yoga

-Communicate principles that support healthy dynamics within the teacher-student relationship

Over the course of the weekend students will have the opportunity to learn through lectures, small group activities, and yoga practices for the entire group. With a focus on healing and developing psychological resources through yoga, students will also walk away with tools to ground, calm, and care for themselves amidst the continued stressors of life.

Lisa Danylchuk, LMFT, E-RYT is an author, licensed psychotherapist, and founder of the Center for Yoga and Trauma Recovery. A graduate of UCLA and Harvard University, her work has pioneered the field of trauma-informed yoga and transformed our understanding of embodiment practices in therapeutic work. She serves on the Board and as UN Committee Co-Chair for the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation, was elected to the role of Secretary in 2018 and was nominated to serve as President in 2022. April Beebe is blue door’s Reiki Master and a truly wonderful human being.  Here is a little more about her journey:

We all incarnate for a reason- with lessons to learn and purpose to fulfill. But when we’re suffering it can be difficult to find meaning in life. Since 2016 I’ve supported my clients and students in transforming their lives: getting to the root cause of pain, releasing trauma, and embodying their innate divine brilliance and radiance.I believe that there is nothing wrong with you. That whatever isn’t working in your life can be shifted. That you are worthy of love right now, as you are- without changing or fixing a damn thing. I’m a gifted intuitive and trained clairvoyant with a deep understanding of trauma. I’m a Reiki Master, clinical hypnotherapist, and can access the Akashic Records.

Probably the most important thing I’d like you to know about me is that all of my work is informed by the fundamental belief that we are divine beings. I’m committed to realizing that truth for myself and using my skills and gifts to help you with the same. It’s time to remember who we are.
